What is Special Education?
Special Education regulation 603CMR 28.02 (20),
states that “Special Education shall mean specifically designated
instruction to meet the unique needs of the eligible student or related
services necessary to access the general curriculum and shall include
programs and services set forth in state and federal Special Education
law.”
What
is the TSEPAC?
Special Education regulation 603CMR 28.07 (4), states
that “Each school district shall create a district-wide parent advisory
council offering membership to all parents of eligible students and other
interested parties. The parent advisory council duties shall include,
but not be limited to the education and safety of students with disabilities,
meeting regularly with school officials to participate in the planning,
development and the evaluation of the school districts Special Education
programs. The school district shall conduct, in cooperation with the parent
advisory council, at least one workshop annually within the school district
on the rights of students and their parents or guardians under state and
federal special education laws.”
